The Groene Lint walking routes
The routes of ‘Het Groene Lint’ (literally: the Green Ribbon) in Den Helder run past various residential areas and accommodation facilities, schools and childcare centres, and aim to lower the barriers that discourage people from going outside. All the routes are 'circular', which means that walkers eventually return to their starting point if they follow the signs.
The five routes are identified by a specific colour and nature symbol (a tree, flower, bird, butterfly and leaf) and take you through the Duinpark, to De Helderse Vallei, through the FalgaTuinen gardens, the length of the school gardens on IJsselmeerstraat and through the park behind 't Heersdiep swimming pool.
