Horse riding in the area

From 1 May to 1 October, horses are not allowed on the beach of Den Helder from 9am to 7pm.

Den Helder has official bridle paths that take you around the Grafelijkheidsduinen and from beach access path 1 near Huisduinen to beach access path 3 near Duinoord. There is a bridle path along the canoe route and Mariëndal is a popular spot for horse riding. Click here for a map showing the bridle paths.

For further information about bridle paths and trail riding on horseback, please contact the local riding stables. There are three riding stables where you can book trail rides or indoor riding: Manege Bruin, Stal Van Haaster en De Jong and Manege Noot. For details of the activities and conditions, please contact the riding stables yourself.
