At the Visitors’ Centre you will find a reception desk where our staff is happy to provide you with information on all the recreational activities in the nature of Den Helder. The permanent exposition provides a bird’s eye view of the neighbouring natural areas.
Text on the calendar is provided in Dutch since all our activities are offered in Dutch.
There is an informative play area for the children adjoining a comfortable reading table and mediatheek. In the 'Bos Atelier', wonderful activities are organised for young and old and a small temporary exposition can be viewed regularly in this area. Our cosy shop offers you plenty of special 'pure' products with a link to nature. At the coffee corner we sell delicious organic products, from coffee and juice to cake and ice cream. Our bathrooms have a toilet for the disabled and a children’s toilet with a changing area. The entire Visitors’ Centre and grounds is easily accessible for the disabled.
Binoculars lending point
De Helderse Vallei has a binoculars lending point in the Visitors’ Centre! At the reception desk you can borrow binoculars and accompanying educational materials free of charge to birdwatch in the nature areas around De Helderse Vallei. The binoculars bring the birds closer, giving you a special glimpse into the lives of different birds! The binoculars can be borrowed for free, but you sign a loan agreement and pay a € 50 deposit that is returned when you bring back the binoculars in good condition. This service is sponsored by the Suzanne Hovinga Foundation. More information on lending points can be found here.
